Hacienda La Esmeralda — Guabo 8 NC
Jasmine florals, honey sweetness, and notes of mandarin, orange, and peach. Guabo 8 NC is a natural-process Geisha from Hacienda La Esmeralda’s El Velo farm in Boquete, Panama, grown above 1,850 meters. Harvested on May 6, 2026, and dried for 25 days on raised beds in a climate-controlled room, this lot brings together the floral character of Panama Geisha with a vibrant, fruit-forward profile.
The coffee comes from Guabo, a two-hectare lot in the Quiel region, where the coffee trees average nine years of age. After harvest, the whole cherries were dried on raised beds inside an indoor facility with constant humidity control. This natural process keeps the fruit around the seed throughout drying.
Hacienda La Esmeralda is the Peterson family’s coffee estate in the highlands of Boquete. Its Geisha won the Best of Panama competition in 2004, helping introduce the variety’s extraordinary floral character to the world and establishing Panama as a reference for exceptional specialty coffee. Guabo 8 NC offers a chance to explore Geisha from the producer that helped make it famous.
